Jane it is best to do this, I didn't on my last trip and my card was put on hold. I was able to resolve it quickly using the Orbital self service help, but I could have saved myself so much drama if I had only called ahead.

I prefer the rewards credit card, this way I get points on all my spends and I can use them on car hire and hotels.

If you intend to use your credit card abroad, it is best to let us know. Telling us in advance that you are travelling will notify our transaction monitoring systems you will be using your cards abroad. This will help us to reduce the likelihood of your transactions being blocked.

It depends which type of rewards are more important to you. The Orbital Gold card offers 40,000 bonus flyer miles and one free domestic flight every year with only a $50 fee.
